The lights at Duke Ellington Circle invoke a city of the past while operating at the urban scale of contemporary New York. Sited at the edge of Central Park and along a traffic round-about, the cast-aluminum luminaires, adorned with abstracted leaves and spirals from nature, pull elements of the park into the urban streetscape. The lanterns also incorporate a small cast aluminum acanthus capital.
